Run Coach Process

How it works

I believe that being a coach is a full time relationship between athlete and coach. I provide two week training blocks at a time and ask for brief updates from the athlete twice a week to ensure that he/she is on track. I understand that obstacles pop up in training that often require adjustments so that we can continue to get the best results out of what we can control. My style of coaching is to be available as much as possible (within reason) when athletes have queries about their training. My rate remains the same no matter how much support/contact an athlete needs (again within reason) with the goal always being to help athletes reach their potential. I tend to keep training simple and straightforward. Training is not always easy and requires a positive attitude and dedication. Good results take time, if an athlete can just keep showing up the possibilities for growth and improvement are limitless.

“Mike’s coaching helped me just in time. I’ve been a runner my whole life, but never really had a plan. I was at the beginning of my training cycle for my 15th consecutive Boston Marathon, but this time with some nagging injuries. Mike helped me change things up, address some bad habits and find some new ways to run faster, longer and injury-free! Thank you, Mike! Running is more than just a sport to me and you helped me learn how to become a better and wiser runner.”

“Michael Aish was my coach for two years. Under his guidance, I ran some of my strongest races, including the Javelina Jundred, Cascade Crest 100 and the Comrades Marathon (89K) in South Africa.

Mike provided me with personal training plans, constantly checking in with me and adjusting as needed. I would highly recommend Mike as a coach and mentor – as I finished the Leadville Silver Rush 50M – Mike (who had already finished hours earlier,) was at the finish line to cheer me on and support one of his athletes.”

“As a long time road and trail runner, I’ve had several coaches over the last 20+ years. Mike’s approach to training and racing helped me get into the best shape of my life – and that was as a masters runner! His training plans are fun, but effective – and he’s always built in days for rest and recovery – a critical piece to getting to the start line healthy. MIke’s supportive, and caring nature makes him one of my favorite people and coaches. He deeply cares about his athletes success and overall health during training. Whether you’re just starting out, or was someone like me with years of experience – I can’t recommend him enough to help you meet your goals!”

I’ve known Mike Aish for years, ever since he won the Denver Rock n Roll Marathon in 2010. So when I found out he was Coaching Runners, I knew I had to give him a try! Whether you are training for a Marathon or a 100 miler, or anything in between, Mike has had Huge Success at that distance and has found a way to turn that into Coaching Success as well! So if you are looking for a coach, for Road or Trail, for shorter or Longer Distance, Mike is your Man!

Michael Aish is a phenomenal coach. He designed workouts with paces that I didn’t always think I could run, but with his guidance and encouragement I set PRs in the marathon, 50K, and 50 miles. Both my endurance and speed improved while working with him. He was also wonderful about helping me balance my busy work schedule with training for ultras. If you’re looking for an enthusiastic and supportive coach with a wealth of knowledge about what it takes to be a successful runner, I highly recommend him!
